The youth group calendar is filling quickly. We have regular meetings scheduled almost every other Sunday but have squeezed in a lot of fun things as well.
We will be having an extended meeting on Sunday December 8th (3 to 7 p.m.) to allow for Parents’ Day Out. Parents will be invited to drop their younger children off for a few hours while they shop or just enjoy some alone time while the youth entertain their kids.
December 20th – 21st will be our Christmas Lock-in, starting Friday night at 8 p.m. and ending Saturday at 9 a.m. This year’s lock-in will include some suggested quiet time and an early morning yummy breakfast!
In January the youth are invited to join other youth groups around Anchorage for the Mission Immersion Weekend at St John’s UMC in Anchorage (Friday, January 17th 8 p.m. through Sunday, January 19th 9 a.m.).
We are looking forward to a year of local mission events (instead of an out of state trip). We will be looking into local opportunities to serve our community as “sent out people.”
Thank you to the supporters of Supreme Bean, the youth’s espresso bar. Your orders and donations help our youth learn the finer points of good coffee and details of running a business; thank you.
All 6th through 12th graders are welcomed at our youth group gatherings. Calendars are out so please be sure Marie has your email. If you are on Facebook, make sure we add you to our closed FB group.
As always if there are any questions, please ask any youth leader – Marie Sweezey, Stephen Sweezey, Mark Burch, Zen Armistead, Kevin Ulrich, David Bassett or Robin Bassett. email@example.com
