Recycle for a Reason celebrates anniversary

After a year of providing the viaduct through which unneeded household goods are transferred to places where they are can be used, the program has been deemed a success. Over 36 organizations have received the abundance of the Chugiak Eagle River area and used it to enrich the lives of others in the community, around the State and around the world.  Not only do Anchorage school children have warmer clothes, but local classrooms have a wider variety of school supplies and equipment.  Medical equipment has gone oversees with Doctors Without Borders; typhoon ravaged people in the Philippines have received much needed clothing and local families received kitchen ware when they moved from homelessness into starter apartments.

In short, the United Methodist Church of Chugiak has helped you, the people of Chugiak and Eagle River, enhance and support the mission of dozens of organizations and churches that make for a better world.  We have become the middle men/women that help those with much to share and those who are in need.  The dream of Recycle for a Reason is to continue, with your help, to build a better world.
