R4R (Recycle for a Reason) continues to draw crowds

Friday, March 7, the day the R4R distribution and sale opened last month, the parking lot was jammed.  Fifty people flooded through the doors to recycle our community’s resources.  It was so crowded that it was difficult for the workers to set the final goods on the tables.  Excitement was palpable, both in the shoppers and the workers.  By closing time on Friday, the tables were sparsely covered, at least by UMCC standards.  Never the less, many shoppers arrived the next day.  At least 75% of the goods found new homes by closing on Saturday.  This was in addition to the boxes and bags of items we gave to organizations or individuals engaged in mission.
