The Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADFG) is expanding its offerings of Outdoor Skills Classes. “Alaskans Afield: Outdoor Skills for Friends and Family” offers a variety of Saturday workshops to increase your confidence and fun in the outdoors. “Introduction to Riflery”, the first of these courses to be held in Southcentral Alaska, will be on July 12. We will start out at UMCC with a basic firearms safety briefing before moving to Birchwood Recreation and Shooting Park for live fire. Other courses will include “Wild Flora First Aid”, “Archery for All”, “Moose Hunting 101”, “Wild & Edible Plants”, and “Introduction to Shotguns”.
