Youth Group news

The Youth are grateful for the new espresso machine in the Supreme Bean and look forward to the continued support of the congregation.  The Supreme Bean is the Youth Group’s main fundraising endeavor. The church’s annual budget does not include a line item for UMYF, so all money expended on youth activities comes from your coffee contributions.  Julie Friedli, the Supreme Bean manager, Max Friedli, and Sandra Woods have completed the Café D’Arte barista course, and use the Café D’Arte materials for training other youth.

The Youth voted in late December to explore a short-distance mission opportunity in Valdez to assist the Valdez Senior Center and the Valdez Food Bank with some much needed painting. It’s been quite a few years since some of the apartments have been painted, so it’s time to spruce things up a bit

The Valdez Food Bank recently expanded its space and are hoping to make the interior walls all the same color. UMYF (United Methodist Youth Fellowship) staff is still negotiating with Valdez, but the youth are looking forward to going there between the last week of May and the first week of June.
