VIM Teams seek the Alaskan experience

Volunteers in Mission (VIM) teams are sending feelers to the United Methodist Church of Chugiak offering their services to foster our ministry in the Great Land. So far we have two “hot” ones on the line. One is composed of predominately high school students and the other’s composition is yet to be determined.

Our church has benefited greatly from mission teams in the past. In fact, the expansion of our present building in the early 2000’s was accomplished almost totally by such VIMs.

If the plans of the two groups considering a trip to Alaska materialize, several much needed upgrades at UMCC will be accomplished. However, it will be our responsibility to plan, lead, and participate in the projects. As arrangements become more clear, a request will be made to the congregation to participate in the work and to host meals and outings for our guests. These outside groups not only bring willing hands, but confirmation of our unity in Christ. Please prayerfully consider how you might participate in this joint mission.
