June celebration picnic

Food, music, summer solstice, and fire engine sirens – what better way to honor Pastor Gary and his year of ministry at United Methodist Church of Chugiak? Pastor Gary came to UMCC during a tragic and uncertain time. With boundless energy and a sense of humor, he spiritually led our congregation, both in the Word and in mission. We cannot forget the personal sacrifices he made taking leave from his home in California, and leaving behind his wife and family while he ministered to us. We are very grateful for his kindness, compassion, and service!

The picnic begins at noon on Sunday, June 21. Missions Committee will provide the main entree and beverages. Please bring your favorite covered dish, salad, condiments, desserts, or veggies to share. At this event, UMCC also welcomes members of the Chugiak Volunteer Fire Department (CVFD)- our neighbors who volunteer to keep our community safe. Every day of the year the CVFD prepares and stands ready to respond to fire, natural disasters, threats to health, and other emergencies of all types in the Chugiak – Eagle River area.

If not responding to an emergency we can again anticipate fire trucks and rescue vehicles on site for a demonstration. This activity and others at the picnic can be enjoyed by both adults and kids.

See you there!
