Classes for Adults starting Sept. 11th

Beginning September 11th, Sunday at 9:45 am

Seasons of the Spirit: A discussion based on the lectionary of the day. The first session will be led by Wally Thomas, with leadership rotating on the following meetings. Materials provided.

The Literature of Genesis: A study designed by “Great Courses.” Video talks will be followed by group discussions. Facilitator: Julie Foster

Book Club: For starters, a viewing of the DVD, “God is not Dead,” with group discussion following. Possible later books and discussions may be based on Beyond Belief: The Secret Gospel of Thomas, Awareness, Miracles and others. Rotating leaders.

 

Mid-Week Studies, beginning September 12th

Monday Night Supper Club: Share a meal at 6:30 pm, then join in the discussion and in-depth study of a spiritually inspired book. Contact Sharolyn Kelley or Jackie Holmquist for more info about the class and the subject of the fall session.

Understanding the Bible: Learn about the culture and historical background of passages to gain a deeper understanding of the words in your Bible. The class will choose Monday or Wednesday evenings and an Old or New Testament book to tackle. Led by Kay Abrams.

The Gospel According to Doctor Who: A class designed for young adults looking for the truth embedded in modern media. Contact Geoffrey Woods, Kim Gilhousen, or the office for more info. Meeting Thursday nights at 6:30 pm.
